The third single from Missy Higgins debut album will be “The Special Two”. The evocative song is already a live favourite and will be released as part of a four song EP this Sunday (Australia only).

In addition to the title track, “The Special Two EP” will also feature three non-album tracks. Two are original compositions – “Drop The Mirror” and “Blind Winter”. Both were recorded with her band during early January in Melbourne. The fourth track on the EP will be Missy’s version of the Skyhooks classic “You Just Like Me ‘Cause I’m Good In Bed” which she recorded for Triple J’s recent 30th birthday celebrations.

Missy will also be doing some radio interviews in Australia and NZ on Friday 1st.

Missy Higgins launched her Australian concert tour over the Easter weekend with sold out shows at Perth’s Belvoir and Adelaide’s Thebarton plus an appearance at the Byron Bay Blues & Roots Festival.

These dates coincided with her album, “The Sound Of White”, being certified five times platinum (over 350,000 copies) in this country.

Missy now returns to the US for a week of shows with rising star Ray Lamontagne including dates at landmark venues like Webster Hall in New York and The Fillmore in San Fransisco.

Missy will be one of the artists hightlighted on MTV’s ‘Advance Warning’ program in the USA. The program will run for the month of April and debuts on MTV on the 27th March @ 11PM and on MTV2 on the 30th March @ 10AM. Check out the

The first ever Australian MTV Music Awards were held last night at Sydney’s Luna Park. Missy performed ‘The Special Two’ and walked away with the award for Breakthrough Artist.

Thanks to everyone who voted for Missy in the RollingStone 2004 Readers Poll. As a result Missy received the Readers’ Pick for Artist of the Year, Best Female Performer and Best New Artist. ‘Scar’ reached #2 in the Readers’ Top 10 Singles, ‘The Sound Of White’ was #5 in the Readers’ Top 10 Albums and #8 in the Critics’ Top 10.

Missy returned from the U.S. this week to the news that many shows on her Australian tour in late March/April were already sold out. All tickets are gone for two of her three Enmore Theatre dates in Sydney and more than three quarters of the tickets have already sold for her two nights at Melbourne’s Palais Theatre. Shows at Adelaide’s Thebarton Theatre and Wollongong University have also sold out more than a month before the show date.
