SECOND & FINAL SHOW ANNOUNCED FOR AUCKLAND

Tickets for Missy Higgins’ long awaited Auckland show in August have now sold out.  Due to demand, a second and final show has been announced at new venue, The Rangatira at Q Theatre, 305 Queen Street on Monday, August 6.

The shows in Auckland will be the first chance for NZ fans to see Missy perform songs live from her acclaimed new album ‘The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle’.

MISSY ANNOUNCES SPECIAL ALBUM LAUNCH SHOW IN NASHVILLE

In exciting news, Missy has announced today that she will be heading to Nashville for a special album launch show in July.

See Missy perform songs from her new album ‘The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle’ prior to it’s U.S. release – July 17 – at 3rd and Lindsley in Nashville, Sun July 8. Also appearing as a special guest on the night will be fellow Australian Butterfly Boucher. Tickets are on sale now via www.ticketweb.com

Last week, Missy announced two album launch shows at Le Poisson Rouge in New York, Tue July 17 – and at the legendary Troubadour in Los Angeles, July 19. She will also be a special guest of current Billboard chart topper Gotye, on key dates of his upcoming national U.S. tour. This tour will see Missy performing at some of the nation’s most iconic venues in August and September including Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver and Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Tickets go on-sale to the general public today, June 8.

MISSY TO RELEASE HER NEW ALBUM ‘THE OL’ RAZZLE DAZZLE,’ ON JULY 17TH VIA ELEVEN: A MUSIC COMPANY UNDER LICENSE TO VAGRANT RECORDS IN NORTH AMERICA

On July 17, Eleven: A Music Company (under license to Vagrant Records in North America) will release Missy Higgins’ ‘The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle,’ the breakout Australian songwriter’s first album in
five years and her debut for the label. Fans will be able to pre-order “The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle” digital album from May 29. To coincide with the album release, U.S. tour dates will be announced
later this month. Recorded in Nashville, and produced by Brad Jones (Jill Sobule, Matthew Sweet) and Butterfly Boucher (David Bowie, Sarah McLachlan), the album’s twelve new songs represent
the boldest, most experimental – yet irresistible – music of her career.

And they almost never happened.

In 2007, after generating over one million global album sales and a U.S. gold single, performing on top shows like Conan, Kimmel and Leno, logging over twenty TV syncs, and selling out venues
like NYC’s Terminal 5 and LA’s Orpheum, Missy quietly backed away from music. “I guess I had a bit of an existential crisis,” she says. “I thought, how do I become happy? If this doesn’t give me
fulfillment, what will?”

She found the answer in University and volunteer work. And eventually, she found it again in music. “Everything I have experienced over the last few years – the ups, the downs, the uncertainty,
the questioning and all the lessons learned – have made it on to this album,” says Higgins.

First Sydney & Melbourne shows already sold out! 2nd Sydney & Melbourne shows now on sale

Tickets for singer-songwriter Missy Higgins’ first tour in five years have been eagerly snapped up by fans as they went on sale this morning, with the first Sydney and Melbourne shows on ‘The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle’ June/July tour already sold out and second shows in both cities on sale now.

The Seymour Centre show in Sydney on June 8 sold out this morning with a second show on Saturday June 9 already selling out quickly. In Melbourne, the June 16 show at Her Majesty’s Theatre also sold out quickly this morning and a second and final show on Sunday June 17 is on sale now.

The enthusiasm for ticket sales has been matched with an equally fantastic response from fans pre-ordering ‘The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle’ in recent days and pushing it into the iTunes Top 10 Album Chart.

Last week Missy released ‘Unashamed Desire’, her first single in five years, to praise from both fans and critics. The clip for ‘Unashamed Desire’ https://www.missyhiggins.com/2012/04/unashamed-desire/  was directed by the ARIA Award winning Natasha Pincus, whose name has become synonymous with Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ clip which she also directed.

Yesterday Missy was also announced as the Winner of the Folk/Singer-Songwriter Category in the International Songwriting Competition, for her song ‘Where I Stood’.

‘The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle’ Tour comes after Missy’s return to music following her private decision to quit, and is the first chance fans will have to hear songs from the ‘The Ol’ Razzle Dazzle’ album. Missy has sold over a million copies of her first two #1 albums, ‘The Sound of White’ and ‘On A Clear Night’ which were released to much critical acclaim, and earned Missy multiple ARIA Awards.
