Missy Record Breaks Record

Missy Higgins’ “On A Clear Night”, has become the most pre-ordered release ever on Australian iTunes it was announced today. The achievement eclipses the record set recently by Missy’s labelmates, Silverchair.

Missy’s new 11 song album features the #1 hit single “Steer” and has already been certified platinum for sales of over 70,000 copies. It finally hit stores last Saturday and was greeted with four star reviews in major publications such as the Sunday Herald-Sun and the Sunday Age.

In keeping with the touring driven approach which propelled her debut CD “The Sound Of White” to such phenomenal success, Missy will hit the road tour this week as part of a month long national tour. These shows will see her unveiling her new live band and, will also see a “Triple J Unearthed” winner opening every date.. recognition of the key role that “Unearthed” played in launching Missy’s career.

Most of the forthcoming concerts are already sold out but those who missed out on tickets can see Missy and her band when they perform a free show in Sydney’s Martin Place this Friday morning as part of a national broadcast on Channel 7’s “Sunrise” program.
