This week the nominations for the 3rd annual Jack Awards were announced in Sydney and Missy received two nominations in the catagories for Best Female Performer and Best TV Appearance for her performance at the MTV Awards. Artist James Bellesini was also nominated in the category of Best Tour Art for his work on the Missy Higgins – An Evening of Music tour artwork. Now the decision of who wins the awards is up to you as the awards are publicly voted online at www.thejackawards.com

TRIPLE J are kicking off 2006 with the HOTTEST 100 poll giving you the chance to vote for your favourite 10 songs from 2005. Voting can be done ONLINE HERE or by SMS.

Wow! what a way to start the year. Missy’s debut album ‘The Sound Of White’ is #1 in the end of year ARIA Charts making it the highest selling album of 2005 in Australia. The Special Two EP and Ten Days also made it into the Top 100 Singles of 2005. Check out the full charts on the ARIA site. Thanks again to everyone who has supported Missy over the last year and made 2005 such a year to remember.

Missy Higgins has announced a concert in Cairns on January 31 and Townsville on February 2. They will be her first ever headlining concerts in North Queensland. She will be joined on each date by her band plus special guest – and fellow ARIA nominee – Lior.

Unfortunately Missy’s busy touring schedule will not allow her to visit other cities so these two shows will definitely be the only Queensland dates on this tour.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back to Townsville and Cairns because I had a great time last time I was up there”, said Missy. “Also, I’m currently touring in the US where it’s really cold so I can’t wait to get back to some warmth and sunshine.”

Tickets go on sale Wed 14th December and venue and ticketing info is available on the Tour page.

Missy has been confirmed to perform at five A Day On The Green concerts in January/February 2006. For those who don’t know A Day On The Green is a series of concerts staged at picturesque wineries around Australia. All of the shows will go onsale December 6th and additional show, transport and accommodation info can be found on the A Day On The Green website at www.adayonthegreen.com.au
