Missy has received not one but two nominations in this years APRA Awards ‘Song Of The Year’ category for ‘Scar’ and ‘Ten Days’. The ‘Song Of The Year’ Award is the biggest peer voted music award in Australia and is voted upon by around 15,000 songwriters. Other nominees for the award are Eskimo Joe, Jet and The Dissociatives. The Awards will be held in Sydney on May 30th. For more info check out the APRA Website.

Missy’s debut album ‘The Sound Of White’ which has recently gone 5 x Platinum in Australia will be released in the USA and UK in June through Warner Brothers Music. The instore date in the USA is the 7th June and for the UK it’s the 13th of June. If you can’t wait until June you can already purchase the album online through the iTUNES USA and UK stores.

This week Missy did a stunning performance at the Sydney Opera House as part of the Max Sessions. You can see photos from this performance on the photos page. You will also be able to watch it on May 21st on Max TV.

The third single from Missy Higgins debut album will be “The Special Two”. The evocative song is already a live favourite and will be released as part of a four song EP this Sunday (Australia only).

In addition to the title track, “The Special Two EP” will also feature three non-album tracks. Two are original compositions – “Drop The Mirror” and “Blind Winter”. Both were recorded with her band during early January in Melbourne. The fourth track on the EP will be Missy’s version of the Skyhooks classic “You Just Like Me ‘Cause I’m Good In Bed” which she recorded for Triple J’s recent 30th birthday celebrations.

Missy will be one of the artists hightlighted on MTV’s ‘Advance Warning’ program in the USA. The program will run for the month of April and debuts on MTV on the 27th March @ 11PM and on MTV2 on the 30th March @ 10AM. Check out the

Missy Higgins launched her Australian concert tour over the Easter weekend with sold out shows at Perth’s Belvoir and Adelaide’s Thebarton plus an appearance at the Byron Bay Blues & Roots Festival.

These dates coincided with her album, “The Sound Of White”, being certified five times platinum (over 350,000 copies) in this country.

Missy now returns to the US for a week of shows with rising star Ray Lamontagne including dates at landmark venues like Webster Hall in New York and The Fillmore in San Fransisco.
