MISSY ON SPECIAL

The third single from Missy Higgins debut album will be “The Special Two”. The evocative song is already a live favourite and will be released as part of a four song EP on April 3.

Missy will launch the song with a performance next week on the MTV Awards at Sydney’s Luna Park.

In addition to the title track, “The Special Two EP” will also feature three non-album tracks. Two are original compositions – “Drop The Mirror” and “Blind Winter”. Both were recorded with her band during early January in Melbourne. The fourth track on the EP will be Missy’s version of the Skyhooks classic “You Just Like Me ‘Cause I’m Good In Bed” which she recorded for Triple J’s recent 30th birthday celebrations.

HOTTEST 100

Australia’s biggest radio poll aired yesterday … Triple J’s Hottest 100. Missy was the only artist to have two songs in the top 10 with “Scar” and #2 and “Ten Days” at #6. Her only other eligible song – “Casualty” – came in at #49. Thanks to everyone whose votes helped make this amazing result possible.

“I’m stoked that so many people who listen to Triple J have voted for these songs”, said Missy. “I’ve had an amazing few months and this is really the icing on the cake.”
